In tandem with 21st century global trends in interdisciplinary scholarship, the Council, Lead City University, Ibadan, has promoted Akeem Amodu Full Professor, Philosophy and Public Affairs. Professor Akeem Amodu is a multidisciplinary scholar with works in Critical Thinking, Genetic Engineering, Philosophical Psychology, Sustainability Studies and Good Governance, among others. Thanks to the leadership & membership of the premier Branch, Ibadan Branch, for the opportunity to serve my alma mata as the global image maker of the foremost Alumni Association in Nigeria. I dedicate the successful tenure to the memory of our dear Great Architect Kola Oladunjoye of blessed memory. OAU's Fourth Substantive VC Passes On

The Global Executive Committee, Great Ife Alumni Association announces with deep regrets the demise of Prof C.A. Onwumechili, the visionary and compassionate fourth substantive Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, then University of Ife. Professor Cyril Agodi Onwumechili is noted to have provided exemplary academic and administrative leadership during his tenure as Vice Chancellor of the 62 years old institution between 1979 to 1982. The Global President, Great Ife Alumni Association, Engr. Wale Olaleye FNSE has joined stakeholders within and outside Great Ife community in mourning the loss of Prof C.A. Ife Alumni Tops List of Ilesa Varsity Principal Officers, As UI Appoints Ife Graduate Deputy Registrar

The Global President, Great Ife Alumni Association, Engr. Wale Olaleye FNSE has felicitated with distinguished graduates of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, who were recently appointed Principal Officers of the University of Ilesa, Osun State and the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. You will recall that Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State recently approved the appointment of Professor Taiwo Olufemi ASAOLU, Mr. Funso Olawale OJO and Mr. Adewale Amobi OGUNSIPE as Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Librarian, University of Ilesa, Ilesa, Osun State,  respectively. Mr. Oluyemisi Adebayo OLAOYE, was also recently appointed Deputy Registrar at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. Ife Alumni Condemns Killing, Demands Justice

The attention of the Global Executive Council (GEC), Great Ife Alumni Association has been drawn to the killing of Okoli Chizoputam, a final year student of the Department of Civil Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, by mob action of angry students over alleged theft of phone. GEC condemns the dastardly act in its entirety. According to a release by the Global Publicity Secretary, Great Ife Alumni Association, Akeem Amodu, the Global Executive Council of the Association not only viewed the killing as unjust, extra-judicial and barbaric but also constitutes a violation of the fundamental rights of Okoli Chizoputam to fear hearing. OAU Council Appoints Ife Graduates Principal Officers

The Council of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has appointed Mr. Adetunji Kamardeen Bakare, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ikeola Abogan and Dr. Olukemi Adebimpe Fadehan respectively as the new Registrar, the new Bursar, and the incoming Librarian of the University.  The three appointees are graduates of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ibadan. Mr. Adetunji Kamardeen BAKARE, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Studies (1987 set). Also a 2003 Master of Arts degree holder in Literature – in – English, Mr. Bakare rose through the ranks of the university since his appointment into the University system as Administrative Officer I.
