OAU Alumni Inaugurates Ilorin Chapter As Association Felicitates OYSG HOS, Kwara Chief Judge

Foremost Alumni Association in Nigeria, Great Ife Alumni Association, recently inaugurated Ilorin Branch of the Association. At the well attended ceremony held at Ilorin, the Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin Prof. Wahab Egbewole pledged continued support to the new Branch and the Global body of the Association. The pioneer Chairman, Ilorin Branch, Prof. Bashiru Raji assured the Global Executive Council, Great Ife Alumni Association, of continued deepening of the ideals of the Association. 

The Global President, Engr. Wale Olaleye FNSE appreciated the esteemed leadership and membership of the newly inaugurated Branch for the enthusiasm to contribute their quota to the development of their alma mater, among others.

Also, the Global President, Great Ife Alumni Association, Engr. Wale Olaleye FNSE has felicitated the new Head of Service, Oyo State Government, Mrs Olubunmi Oni mni and the recently sworn in substantive Chief Judge of Kwara state, Justice Abiodun Adebara.

With double masters in Political Science/Public Administration from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and the University of Ibadan, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni 

until her recent appointment served as Permanent Secretary, Governor’s Office (Cabinet & Special Services), Oyo State Government.

Justice Abiodun Adebara, an Alumnus of Great Ife, rose through the ranks until his appointment as Acting Chief Judge, Kwara State. Justice Abiodun Adebara was eventually recently sworn in as the substantive Chief Judge of the State by the Kwara State Governor, His Excellency Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The Global President, on behalf of members of Great Ife Alumni Association, appreciated both Justice Abiodun Adebara and Mrs Olubunmi Oni mni for upholding the ideals of their alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and urged them to continue deepening effective and efficient judicial system and public administration through their respective esteemed offices.

Ife Alumni Condemns Killing, Demands Justice

The attention of the Global Executive Council (GEC), Great Ife Alumni Association has been drawn to the killing of Okoli Chizoputam, a final year student of the Department of Civil Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, by mob action of angry students over alleged theft of phone. GEC condemns the dastardly act in its entirety. According to a release by the Global Publicity Secretary, Great Ife Alumni Association, Akeem Amodu, the Global Executive Council of the Association not only viewed the killing as unjust, extra-judicial and barbaric but also constitutes a violation of the fundamental rights of Okoli Chizoputam to fear hearing. Ife Law Alumnus Emerges 12th Unilorin VC

The Governing Council, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, recently announced Prof Wahab Egbewole SAN, an Alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as the 12th Vice Chancellor of the University.
