Amodu: OAU Alumnus Promoted Full Professor, Philosophy and Public Affairs

In tandem with 21st century global trends in interdisciplinary scholarship, the Council, Lead City University, Ibadan, has promoted Akeem Amodu Full Professor, Philosophy and Public Affairs. Professor Akeem Amodu is a multidisciplinary scholar with works in Critical Thinking, Genetic Engineering, Philosophical Psychology, Sustainability Studies and Good Governance, among others.

A town-gown philosopher, Prof. Akeem Amodu is a seasoned university lecturer and researcher. The newly promoted Full Professor is also a statesman and community leader who has to his profile various academic and public service positions including Commissioner, Civil Service Commission, Oyo State Government of Nigeria; Chairman, Parents-Teachers Association, Muslim Model College, Ibadan (MMCI); State Pedagogy Officer, USAID-Literacy Enhancement Assistance Program; President, Ire-Akari Community Development Association, New Felele, Ibadan; Vice Chairman, University Research Ethics Committee (UREC), Lead City University (LCU), Ibadan; Full-Time Board Member, Oyo State Housing Corporation (OYSHC), Ibadan, among others.

A philosophy graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, Prof. Akeem Amodu is the immediate past Global Publicity Secretary, Great Ife Alumni Association and Fellow, Chartered Institute of Social Work Practitioners of Nigeria. 

The Global President, Great Ife Alumni Association, Barr. Fred Aburu has described the profile of Prof. Akeem Amodu and his full professorial status in the multidisciplinary area of Philosophy and Public Affairs as exemplary of 21st century global efforts to bridge the disconnect between scholarship and practice.
